Progressive women’s political groups from across New York City are hosting the Rally for Reproductive Justice: Our Voices, Our Votes, Our Power to emphasize the importance of women in political office. The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade has restricted or completely removed access to reproductive healthcare in many states across the country. These actions underscore how essential it is to elect women and childbearing people who are committed to protecting abortion rights.
Jessica González-Rojas - Before being elected to the New York State Assembly in 2020, Jessica González-Rojas served for 13 years in leadership at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice, the only national reproductive justice organization that is dedicated to building Latina power to advance health, dignity, and justice for 29 million Latinas, their families, and communities in the United States. Assemblywoman González-Rojas is an unapologetic social justice leader fighting for the values of dignity, justice, and equity.
